DESCRIPTION:Join us at Idlewild Park for this years annual Reno Earth Day. Learn about sustainability\, recycling\, energy and much more from local non profit and educational groups. While you’re at Reno Earth Day\, you can expect another Great American Craft Fair\, live local musicians and locally sourced beer. Be sure to bring your flask and reusable shopping tote. In addition to the complimentary water fill stations\, aluminum bottled water will be available for purchase. \nThese are some of the changes we have made to the event: \n-Separation of Trash and recycle at an increased number of volunteer manned waste collection stations\n-Data collection in the form of weighing and recording all waste collected at the event\n-Increased focus on Education\n-Sustainability incentivized raffle\n-Restrictions on food vendor to go materials\n-Not allowing vendors to distribute any single use bags\, bottles\, cups\n-All beverages poured will be sold in a reusable commemorative cup\n-Restrictions on non sustainable handout items\n-Distribution of reusable bags\n-Complimentary RTC and Pedicab rides \nAt this time\, we are looking for help with the following: \n-Getting the word out that the event is not canceled (see below)\n-Volunteers to help with trash collection\, security\, beer pourers\, setup and breakdown\n-Educational Booths\n-Activity Booths\n-Nursery/Arborist Booths\n-Promotional/Marketing Booths\n-Farmers Market Booths\n-Non Profit Booths\n-Sponsors \n>\nWe are no longer accepting Artist/vendor booths unless your product helps with our sustainability goal \n

SUMMARY:A.V.A. Ballet Theatre's Frozen
DESCRIPTION:The spring gala season for A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic ballet Frozen on April 22nd and 23rd at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne\, Frozen is the captivating story written by Hans Christian Andersen. When their kingdom becomes trapped in a perpetual winter\, Anna joins forces with mountaineer Kristoff to find Anna’s sister\, Snow Queen Elsa\, and break the icy spell. This classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance\, intrigue\, and is fun for the entire family. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the exciting score. Jason Altieri will be conducting the orchestra \nOutstanding guest principal dancers from throughout the country will perform with the large cast from A.V.A. Ballet Theatre. \nThe Saturday April 22nd performance will be held at 8pm and the Sunday April 23rd performance will be at 2pm. Ticket prices for adults are $30 to $60. Ticket prices for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older are $25 to $55. For tickets call the Pioneer Center at 775-434-1050 or on-line at pioneercenter.com. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 4pm. \nA.V.A. Ballet Theatre is the resident ballet company of the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. They are northern Nevada’s largest company under the instruction of a professional faculty with years of performing experience in renowned metropolitan ballet and production companies across the United States and Europe.
