Tickets and reservations can be made online at https://www.tahoefoodhub.org/events \nThe Tahoe Food Hub (TFH) is a 501(c)-3 non-profit organization based in Truckee\, CA. Our mission is to provide a food system that supports regenerative and sustainable farming practices by increasing access to local food for North Lake Tahoe. By addressing local food access challenges at a systems level\, we create a hub for local food. A local food system benefits diversified\, family farms looking fair market opportunities while increasing access to local food for our mountain community. Our goal is to create a more equitable food system that is fair for the soil\, farmer and consumer. Regenerative farming sequesters carbon into the soil which helps mitigate climate change. Our network of programs educates our community on the important role that a local food system has on our community\, economy and environment. For more information find us online at tahoefoodhub.org. \nFor additional information or if interested in volunteering\, please email or call susie@tahoefoodhub.org\, 530-562-7150.

SUMMARY:Classical Tahoe: Sibelius\, Séjourné\, & Rachmaninoff
DESCRIPTION:Sibelius’s Finlandia had its origins in political protest. It was written for the Finnish Press Pension Celebration of 1899\, a thinly veiled rally in support of freedom of the Finnish press\, then largely controlled by tsarist Russia. Sibelius later reworked parts of the music into a Finlandia Hymn which is today regarded as Finland’s unofficial national anthem.\nIt’s not often that a percussion instrument like the marimba is a featured soloist with an orchestra. Praised by the New York Times for his “understated but unmistakable virtuosity”\, Svet Stoyanov will play Séjourné’s Concerto for Marimba which combines the romantic and jazzy sounds of the instrument.\nRachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 is a favorite of many because of its continuous lush\, sweeping\, romantic melodies that will be sure to touch your soul.

SUMMARY:Classical Tahoe: Haydn\, Schubert\, & Wagner
DESCRIPTION:Wagner’s Siegfriend Idly is a “musical love letter” and grand gesture of affection to his wife Cosima. Wagner presented it to Cosima on her 33rd birthday\, also Christmas day. Perfect for date night in Lake Tahoe!\n\n“As I awoke\, my ear caught a sound\, which swelled fuller and fuller. . . . Music was sounding\, and such music! When it died away\, Richard came into my room with the children and offered me the score of the symphonic birthday poem. I was in tears\, but so was the rest of the household.” \n– Cosima Wagner\, the wife of Richard Wagner\, 1870 \n\nHaydn’s Sinfonia Concertante is light\, quirky\, and classically enjoyable music featuring four Classical Tahoe Orchestra musicians as soloists: Sarah Vonsattel\, violin\, Winona Zelenka\, cello\, Nathan Hughes\, oboe\, and Whitney Crockett\, bassoon.\nWhen Schubert wrote his Symphony No.3\, he was just 18 years old!
