Founded in 1981, Truckee Follies started as a small group of performers who wanted to bring their love of the arts to the community, and business to Downtown Truckee. Over the years, they've grown into a biennial event with fabulous performers, musicians, and sponsors all poking fun at out little mountain town.
First run in 1971, the Virginia City Grand Prix has established itself as one of the most unique off-road motorcycle races of its kind. It combines a challenging race experience with the energy and charm of an authentic “old west” mining town, designated as a National Historic Landmark.
